Yay!! It's 3 degrees this morning. That's three times what it was yesterday. Here comes summer!

it was 9* when I left work yesterday. the SeX had been sitting out there in that all day. The damn trans refused to shift! fluid must have been near solid.

Back in the 90's I drove an 88 Pontiac Firefly 5 door. (Sexy machine) Non-assisted steering. It would start in all conditions thanks to the 3 banger but you had to get some heat going to loosen up the steering rack so you could actually turn.

It's so cold here, my nipples can be measured on the Rockwell Hardness scale.

i actually broke out the warm socks today. im good for down to about 20 in long sleeves, jeans, and boots, but the damp gets to me. if my feet get cold, im done. so warm socks, even though its in the upper 30's right now. the damo and wind make it worse.

The cherokee's t-stat is stuck open = a cold 40 minute drive to work. Did I mention it's been below zero with wind chills in the -30°F range? It's getting warmer, though.

I hate shifting in cold weather. I always end up grinding the 1-2 shift if I can't let it warm up.

It was so cold here last night that this morning my shifter felt like it was stuck in a jar of peanut butter!

Plus when I let of the clutch, the drag of the transmission lube almost stalled the car in neutral.

My kid is looking at Graduate Schools across the Midwest and 2 in California. Here are last night's temps @ 6:00pm CST;

Minneapolis 1dgF
Madison 9dgF
Champaign 14dgF
Ann Arbor 9dgF
San Diego 79dgF

It would be a "no brainer" where I would be going.

If I was home I'd be bitchin' along with the rest, but I'm not. I'm on another continent complaining about 50* weather. hopefully it will warm back up by next Wednesday when I get back to Chicago.

A lot of the buildings at the University of Minnesota are connected with tunnels, so it's not so bad in the winter.
