Those idiots are largely the reason I don't mess around with Subarus anymore...maybe it's a northern thing but the stereotypical Honda ricer has now been replaced by Monster energy & DC shoes branded scenesters with totally shagged and poorly modified WRXs.
The Ken Block knock offs are everywhere.
I don't see many here.

ditto, I have a modded WRX and am 37 and work a white-collar government job. And don't like Ken Block or Monster.

Almost all the subie guys I know around here are 30-something professionals with tastefully modded cars who take them to the track or rally-x for the most part.

There are morons driving all kinds of cars. I see more Priuses and SUVs driven recklessly than any "import tuner" type cars.

Could be because my county has pretty much no tolerance for bullE36 M3 like that....

Unfortunately, it isn't just a northern thing.

Unfortunately, it isn't even just a Northern hemisphere thing .

I passed a Subris in a Dodge 4x4 this morning... about 10 feet off the road in the weeds thanks to a snowy corner...

Personally, I've always liked the sound of a WRX with an aftermarket exhaust. Not obnoxious like most I-4's.

Amid the snowpocalypse from Winter Storm Saturn, one of the students at my school said "I have AWD so I won't crash". I kid you not!

I love when they complain that the awd didn't work because the car crashed when they applied the brakes at 75 in a blizzard. AWD worked, just fine Jack, got you up to 75 mph, it was the loose nut behind the wheel that failed.

Subaru NA says this is normal

Unfortunately, many nouveau Scooby owners are eager to test out that "rally heritage" AWD at the sight of the first snow. However, some of said nouveau Scooby owners, don't know jack E36 M3 about the technicalities of their car and embark on their maiden voyage (crash) on the "Extreme Performance Summer tires" (basically semi-slick R compounds) that come on the STi.These tires shouldn't even be driven on bellow freezing (or they risk cracking) and certainly not in the snow. But because the car has AWD, you stand a fairly good chance of moving, that's the scary part. Don't get me wrong, many Subaru owners know this, but some (like the person in the video), clearly don't.

Funny! They said the same thing about copper in oil and the exhaust leak from the downpipe. Two dealers and a call to Subaru NA later and they all say the same thing. Kicking myself in the ass each day I have this thing.

Understeering into the nearest curb or tree?.Kills me how subie guys can go on forever about the low CG of the boxer blah blah blah, they like to leave out the part that the entire engine is in front of the wheels however.

they did a pretty good job of faking it... you can see the tracks from the tires left in the slush...
