What are some oddball cars/trucks/suv's/wagons you've run across that could be really cool?
Like this exploder, 2wd manual trans. With a small drop kit and some cobra wheels, I think this could be completely cool.

I've had a few. I have a Prizm lsi with crank windows, manual trans, no tach(I've swapped in a tach cluster) no ABS, solid roof, but power mirrors/remote locks, cruise and AC. Whoever bought my Yugo got a dead base car, with the top option radio.
my 84 T Type has just about the minimal amount of options that you could get on one.. it has rear defog and the G80 posi, which as far as i can tell are the only options on top of the T Type package- which in 84 was the good suspension and the turbo drivetrain..
it has a column shift without tilt, split bench, no cruise control, solid roof with no leaky t tops, and it had the stock am/fm radio in it when i got it.. unfortunately, AC was standard equipment so it's got that..

My '86 RX7 base model, being the base model, had crank windows. But it was optioned with the "luxury package" which added the power sunroof and power mirrors. I thought that was rather odd.

My high school buddy had a '70 Catalina wagon with a 400 and factory 3-on-the-tree manual.
I had a Neon with power windows, locks, sunroof, alloy wheels, and no A/C or cruise.
I used to make some fun saturns when i could get away with it. typically high-content levels on L-series cars with a stick shift, in a wagon. or some bad color on a sedan & hubcaps.
I have a '97 SE Wrangler, I'm the second owner (have had it since '99). Had to have been a special order. It's an SE with the "Sport Package" automatic transmission, and air conditioning. So it's a soft top, half doors (soft top half), the 5 spoke Sport wheels, Sport interior, with the anemic 2.5l.
Side by side with most other actual Sport TJs you'd think it too is a typical autotragic Sport, but it ain't. Pop the hood and there's the tiny little 2.5l. With 3.73 gears and that 30RH transmission you are often remind that you're 2 cylinders short. Remember to turn the A/C off when going up hill.

My Escort is like that. Manual locks and windows. Power sunroof, power mirrors, and those stupid powered seat belts.

I have seen one of those oddballs. LW200 wagon, green/tan, loaded up well, 5spd manual. I have only seen one LW 5spd.
I found they were never hard to move, even if they often wound up part of a dealer trade.
I owned a 1970 Chrysler 300 2 door hardtop with crank windows, manual bench seat and radio delete but had dual A/C. That meant an additional A/C box and fan assembly in the trunk with vents in the package tray.

That was a rare car...they only built 113 Catalina wagons that year with manual transmissions.
I had a '94 Bronco with a 351 and E4OD with crank windows, vinyl seats, rubber floors front to back and lever-shifted transfer case. It had quad shocks up front and heavy duty alternator with an auxiliary trans cooler.
That's what you get when you buy an ex-Police Bronco. Did I mention the spotlight and multiple antennae?

one with the fugly wheels that were on it when i got it.. never figured out what they were, but i got like $100 for them..

My first new car was a 1987 Camaro. It had a 305 and a 5 speed. No air conditioning. No power windows, locks or mirrors. The only option it had when it came home was 'radio delete'.
My 1968 Ford Country Sedan wagon is an odd one, which is a big part of why I have it. It's a 390 with a column shift 3 speed. Odd combo. Power steering but manual brakes. Everything else is base, except for the power rear window and AC. Essentially it's a completely base car but with the 390, power rear window and AC. Some guy picked just those three options. The weirdest part is the AC. From what I can tell it was originally sold in Illinois in 1968. I don't know what percentage of cars were ordered with AC in the Midwest back then, but it wasn't a lot.
I have never seen a column shifted turbo Regal. Far out.
One of my ex-friends has a base model late 90s Grand Am. 2.4l, 5 speed, no A/C, AM/FM radio. I didn't know you could even get a car with no A/C in the post-OBD-II timeframe.
I bought a new Sentra SE-R in 1992. It didn't even have a radio, but it had power mirrors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the power mirrors were standard. If so, my only real option was a/c. Still, I always thought it was funny that I had that one luxury item.
So My MR2 had the high end stereo, AC, Cruise, Turbo, ABS, and all of the power options except it was manual steering with cloth interior.
I actually got a discount from the guy I bought it from because he didn't know and I said man, the power steering is going out on this and that electronic pump is really expensive to replace. Got $1200 off

Sure smells like 1LE. Although it WOULD have had "1LE" as an option, including the unicorn front brakes.
Heck, I'd classify any manual trans 3rd-gen as having weird options... I've only seen TWO manual trans 3rd-gens... a V6 and a four cylinder.
Yeah, some poor sod actually bought a 2.5 4-speed Camaro.
My Javelin was ordered really odd. Buckets, console, PS, PB, tilt, vinyl top, and SST trim, but no A/C or discs. 360, 4Bbl, HD suspension, HD cooling, but no LSD, 401, or AMX. Oh, and 2.73 gears. Also, Trans Am Red (sort of a Tomato color) with a white top, gold side stripes, and a black interior with white seats.
My old 73 Hornet was a total head-scratcher, too. 232 inline 6, manual steering, vinyl bench, poverty caps, etc, but with A/C. Not odd for Florida/Arizona, very odd for a car ordered new in Portland, OR.
I would love to be the "order" guy at a dealership...
