I had a 91 Chev P/U - C2500 HD
454 - 4 spd manual with the "granny" low - effectively a 3 spd.
Only other option - AC.

For a brief time I had an 89 probe gt with crank windows and no sunroof but power locks.
My current DD is a stripped Escort...1991 Pony model. Odd is that many of the parts used are exclusive to this model. No AC or power steering required a special alternator bracket and manual rack with odd mounts. No cruise control had a different steering wheel. No power mirrors (and no passenger side mirror at all) or defrost and radio delete has all the wiring in place, just no grid on the window or switch for the defrost, same for the mirrors and the radio! Different interior light, different door panel and seats, no sound deadening. Even the gas door and trunk latch are different to make them non-remote! Wiper control has a single intermittent setting! No hatch light and handle require a plastic cover without the holes cut.
No window tint of any kind and odd smaller front brakes with unique spindles, calipers, discs and pads! 13 inch steel wheels with goofy little hub caps that only fit these smaller brakes! The front sway bar is a wimpy little thing exclusive to this model too!
Even the computer is special as is the gearing in the manual transmission as this was touted as a fuel saver car. Seeing as the car still gets 33 mpg driving in town delivering pizza and over 50 mpg on the highway I love its spartan options. I have put a passenger mirror, nice stereo system, better interior light, full size spare tire and better sway bars for handling purposes. I had to reuse the original springs because the "normal" springs had the car sitting an inch or so taller than stock.
Last time I weighed the car it was 1950 pounds! Had the back loaded down with 508 pounds of scrap aluminum so I had the opportunity to get a good weight.
Now some cars get silly! I grew up with a 1969 Mustang and just the interior can baffle the crap out of most folks. 5 different speedometers, 5 different clock options, 3 different steering wheels,automatic seat back locks, deluxe, standard, Boss stuff, Shelby items, High back and low back seats in both bucket and bench seat configuration, Mach I, Grande, GT, E model, limited edition 600, Boss, Shelby, Twister special, and others. Only once have I ever seen 2 1969 Mustangs that came from the factory that were identical.

My little off road '99 Forester has heated mirrors and even heated front windshield wipers. Nice options for a winter/trail runner. The LSD rear end is also nice in the "S" model which included rear disk brakes.
I owned an 87 Hyundai Excel with no options but a power sunroof. it had manual trans, windows, locks, big clock instead of tach, etc, but it had that power sunroof.
My 2008 Frontier was a bit strange.
A/C / 4wd / CD player / extended cab / Big V6 .... Cloth interior (way cheap and crappy looking)...No Cruise control.... manual windows..... manual locks..... manual mirrors.
The dealer couldn't sell it. I bought it in October of 2008. The dealer gave me about 8K off the sticker price (it was brand new).

I once owned an '89 LeBaron with the 2.5 Turbo motor, 5 speed transmission, metric gauges (it was a Canadian car that had somehow found its way to the US) - and crank windows, cloth seats and no A/C. Seems odd that the LeBaron, as it was supposed to be something of a luxury car, was ever offered as a stripped down model.

Two oddballs relating to the 72 GMC in my build thread.
The little switch that turns on the dome light when you open the door? Apparently they could be ordered without these. Mine doesn't have them, not even the holes in the sheetmetal.
They could be ordered (mine was not) with a knob which you could pull out to be a crawler throttle. You drop the clutch and pull out the knob to advance the throttle a touch, get out and you have farmer-cruise-control, so the guys can bale hay or whatever and the truck will just crawl along.

My first thought was a "Drag Pack" car but they had a 3.90 or 4.30 Detroit Locker rear end but would have had an oil cooler also. All those options that were deleted on your car were just the result of checking off boxes to delete them.

I had a 69 C10 shortbed stepside that had that option. It was a 250 with a granny 4 speed, leaf spring rear, and nothing else. One of the codes on the glove box door said "Alabama Power Company".

Today I learned heated windshield wipers is a thing. Sure must be handy after an ice storm
Heated wipers sounds kind of logistically ludicrous vs just heating the windshield.

My truck has very few options, HEMI, 4WD, and ABS. Manual locks, manual windows, and rubber mat for a floor. It's a quad cab, and I wish it had power door locks :-). For how I use it though, it's just about perfect!
