I don't even know what that name is supposed to mean, but it may be one of the dumber vehicle names I've heard recently. I wonder if it's related to the C-Max?

It is an awful car. Comes from the factory with a rear suspension noise. The rear spring isolators are too weak and the spring just makes all types of noise. The touch Screen is already outdated and is a constant failure. Stop/Start confuses everyone, thinking their new car just died.
I've no affiliation with Jag and I've never driven one. But everyone I know who has thinks they are awesome. I think they are one of the better looking premium cute utes too.
Why the hate?
PS. Zero relation in any way to the C-max

No hate specifically toward the vehicle itself (in the commercial I've seen for it about 20 times, the vehicle is only shown for about 2 seconds and the rest of the ad is other stuff that is just distraction). I just don't understand what the deal is with this naming concept. Hasn't Jag historically either used the 3-digit (XJ6, XKR, etc) or "Type" (X-Type, S-Type, etc). F-Pace is just strange and makes no sense. Also isn't Lexus doing F-Sport or something already?
The C-Max comment was in jest - since I've heard that the C-Max is actually a pretty good vehicle, but I suspect that the dumb name doomed sales (C-Max sounds like some kind of pickup truck or something).
I suppose these have been out for a while in the UK already, then? I've never seen one here (and hadn't heard of them until last night), and the area I live in is ground zero for $$$ cute-utes....can't go 1/2 a mile without seeing a handful of LR Evoques and Audi Q5s and BMW X1s.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that.
Don't care about what Lexus names E36 M3 as I haven't given up on life so they're not on my radar.

Ooh, take that Lexus
It's damn pretty for an SUV, has a rather nice interior, strong powerplants, and drives just as well as the new XF does. Also, it's a crossover with steering that isn't lifeless. Shame about the terrible infotainment system (although the stereo is brilliant). I think my buddy's mom made a good choice with hers (not pictured).
Still a better name than the proposed Maserati Kubang. Apparently Maserati realized that naming a car after the exact noise it would make when it stranded it's owners was a bad idea.

Kubang sounds like it should be the name of some weird-looking car that a Japanese company is trying way too hard to sell to young people (who can't afford it anyway). Like Qashqai.
I didn't know Jag-YOU-are even made SUVs. The first time I looked at this thread I thought it was about the Jag that was in the lighting lap this year with no roof.

Now, just drop it down a couple inches, and put 18" wheels on it (making the wheel wells smaller to match), and call it a sportwagon, dammit!

They did this with the last XF in Europe, and we're supposedly getting the next XF Sportbrake.
In the words of My Clarkston. I think I am having a crisis. Best not tell me it has something made from titanium on it.

Rebirth of the Infiniti FX. And I hated those too.

Now this is hot. Like the difference between a CTS wagon (awesome) and an SRX (dorky).

No idea if anything's titanium, but they did make a supercharged V8 version with over 500 horsepower, a top speed of 186, and a gorgeous French Blue paint job (among grey and white and black and whatnot).

Yup, they never make anything for enthusiasts.

If jag brought the wagon thing here, I'd buy one. I hope they sell lots of suvs, help a cool brand be profitable.
