Jaguar XK8 - I am having bad ideas.

Man isn't that the truth. I bought my xjr for stupid cheap but a xkr coupe of the x100 generation would of been over 10k. 

Drivetrain is different. Specifically the rear dif and the xkr is supposed to have 30 more hp. There is also a weight difference of 500 lbs or so depending on where you look. Is all that worth the $$$$?  I don’t think so. 

The x308 xjr and x100 xkr were good for the same power. The diff i wouldn't know but I'd be surprised if they weren't the same. 

Wikipedia gave the xk the added hp I have no clue if that is fact. 

I have been looking for a convertible for a while now.  Its stupid how cheap these things have become.  Literally can get a clean convertible for less money than I can sell a TR7 for.  There is something seriously wrong with that math.  Look on Facebook marketplace as well.  Keep finding the really cheap ones on there.  Seems like most of the really great deals are in Ct.  That is a little far for us to travel just to look at a car.  A couple of weekends ago I went all Duke's of Hazzard in the wife's Range Rover.  Left the highway, jumped the guard rail and eviscerated everything underneath the vehicle.  Now the wife needs a new ride and I can't find another cheap Rover.

So am I going to get fruit thrown at me if I say the side profile of the hard top makes me think of the Oldsmobile Aurora?

I kind of want to find a nice 1g Aurora to do up. So, not offended.

Cool thing about the XK8 is that if you drive it off the end of a runway and down a cliff, it turns into an XJ-S.

We need an aurora Pic  LOL . This is a case where my mind actually thought they were similar looking and how cool they were then this happened.

Ohhh now those are cool. Drove a supercharged one of those things. Fun car in its own way. 

We all came out fine.  Further proof that I am invincible, and the only reason the wife and kids made it out all right was because they were with me.  I bought the Rover three years ago to get the 4.6L engine out of it.  Wife took one look at it and claimed it.  At least now I get my 4.6 back.  We were on 495 heading to a funeral.  SUV in front of me slammed on the brakes and swerved left, revealing a stopped or barely moving car in my lane.  No time to do anything but swerve into the breakdown lane.  Missed the car.  Didn't take anybody else out, but I ended up testing the aerodynamics of the Rover.  Cops cited me for marked lane violation.  You believe that BS.  People could have died if I had not reacted the way I did.  Last thing I saw was the car as I went past it, then sky, then lots of snow.  Ended up in about a 4 foot deep snowbank with trees on either side.  Had to climb out of the window to get out.  Watching the wrecker guys drag it out of the snow and up over the guard rail was pretty cool.  $685 worth of cool.

I too have plot armor!   Wouldn't that tow bill be on the insurance claim?

Again, glad you're all alright.  Congrats on your 4.6, assuming you pay the buyback?
