I hate seeing stuff like this.
Amazing that someone was street racing while drunk and at least in possesion of cocaine gets off because he was pulled over on the wrong side of the intersection.
Dropping charges on a technicality doesn't exonerate him from guilt. But, we have laws that specify the "how's and why's" by which the accused can be prosecuted.
J.C. dodged a bullet; it's now up to him to prove he's beyond public suspicions. And I suspect GARRA will be giving some "extra" special attention to his behaviors on and off the track.
I know some guys who live on the west side of Rockford, Illinois, who, for the price of gas to and from Florida, and a small "fee" could take care of the legal issues, permanently.
Just sayin'

Ya, small fee's...
Just because the charges were dropped doesn't necessitate that Grand Am reinstate his racing license - that's where the nepotism comes in.
What an asshat!
Sorry for the outburst, I try to make sure my comments add value to the conversation, but nothing else comes to mind.

Hey, he passed the test that was administered by a Forensic Toxicologist, so I'm sure there's no chance he could possibly be still using drugs.
I'm seriously disgusted. I'd love to throw nails in his driveway.
Hey now, why all the France family hate?
I'm sure any of us would have beat the rap too. I mean come on, who hasn't ran a few red lights while drag racing their Lime Green Gallardo Spyder? Just because he was completely drunk (police report said he could hardly stand) and holding cocaine that doesn't make him a bad guy. (or does it) When they were pulled over Van (Brother in law- racing JC in a Porsche turbo mini-van) told the cops "Do you know who I am?...... we own you and this town!" Keep in mind this was after he ran from the cops and after they found cocaine on him too.
I guess he was right. Not surprising, but still disgusting.
The few folks I've met like that ("my Daddy owns this town!!") are usually emboldened after beating the rap. I hope he doesn't kill somebody next time..

It's not the thread that sucks. I'd love for this to get enough attention that it gets back to Mr. France himself...or better yet, his sponsors.
I'm thinking that by age 45 1/2 he will have another very humiliating public incident, which will spiral him downward into the depths of despair...only to rise phoenix-esque into a TV Evangelist.
Either that,or he's worm food by the 4th of July.

I'm betting his descent into reality-TV has him caught under a pier, filmed while groping the female cast of Jersey Shore.

It was Bubba Zenetti who died in an emboldened state.
"I know what I'm doing."
I wonder if the judge who threw out the arrest has box seats for the Daytona 500 for the next few years?
This seriously is some bush league hillbilly crap. When I read it in the paper this morning I didn't know if I was reading a news story or the synopsis to a Dukes of Hazzard rerun. Seriously? The whole "I just crossed the town line so you can't bust me" ploy actually works?!?!?!?
Screw France. He's a d-bag and he'll fail in an epic fashion sooner or later. What really steams me is this judge. Someone should be up his butt making sure his nose is clean for a while.
