Seen the promos and it has potential.
I'm jacked up waiting - I 've watched enough of the Bates, the Duggars, and Chip Gaines - the wife will be forced to watch this with me.
...as long as they don't screw it up with bogus drama, fights, and challenges it could be pretty good...

This^^^^^. It looks good but most shows end up being just a lot of nonsense. All fluff. Still, I will be watching it and giving it a fair chance. I love me some JDM.
Oh that’s gonna suck. There’s no way they will get this right and give me a reason to get cable. There’s no way they will get my jollies for Japanese cars, without screwing it up. I want to be derisively incorrect.
That RX7 they built has been my desktop background on my home PC for about 5 years now. SCHWING! I'm hoping the show does not disappoint.
I am really excited about this! As mentioned above, if they stick to the builds and don't create false conflict and drama, I think it could be really good!
I have done my own JDM build, and while it doesn't reach the same level that this show will, it's nice to not have (almost) every show be about muscle cars (which I also like, having owned several before they were "classics") or exotic sports cars so far out of my reach as to be unobtanium :-)
My build is a 1989 Toyota MR2 with the JDM 20 valve 1.6 liter and 6 speed swap :-)

The first episode was pretty good. No drama or fake deadlines.
I looked it up and the JDM shop is just a few miles down the street from Kindigit Design, so I assume there's some connection that was how they got their own TV show.
I really liked it.
I liked it and hope they keep it up.
I'd like to see a whole episode like the blue Z they briefly showed that was a rust bucket given new life.
Is this the same show on Motor Trend on Demand?

Yes, welll done I say. No craziness or people fighting. Great first episode with the Fairlady Z too. Added bonus was the following show from Goblin Motor Works with their Datsun 280Z build. Looking forward to the next episode and the early Skyline build. Love JDM stuff,

Awesome MR2. Well done.
Overall, I'd say it was pretty good. It was focused on, wait for it, actual work being done on cars! The only "drama" (off the shelf parts that don't work) wasn't really a focus of the show and was something we've all experienced. I wouldn't say any of the participants are especially good in front of the camera, but I'll take content over flash any day. I'll definitely be a regular watcher until they jump the shark and start saying dumb stuff like "The customer wants this next week, so we'll be pulling all nighters" and "don't break that irreplaceable part that we'll have to magically 'find' to finish our build in the impossible deadline we have."

Yep, they're definitely not comfortable in front of the camera yet. Here's an interview with the owners on Japanese Nostalgic Car, sounds like their approach is right.
I missed the first one but liked the promo. Gotta get the DVR set for this.
