Jetta TDI Cup on Speed

Anybody else watch it this past Saturday on Speed?

Nope I misssed it. I would have liked to have seen it but I am so use to all NASCAR all the time I don't even check the schedule anymore.

Very interesting to watch a race and hear the tires squealing through every turn. Some of the straights brought speed around 125-130.

I especially loved the two-wheel cornering... i swear some of these guys were inches from flipping.

I have them waiting for me in my Tivo. I saw the first 2 rounds a week or so ago. Amazing cars. So quiet. It blows my mind that those TDIs have twice as much torque and about equal hp as my VR6 GTI. Rumor has it that VW is releasing a TDI Cup Edition Jetta in 2010, but specs so far indicate it won't be getting the Euro powerplant that the real cup cars have.

I would love to get my hands on one, but as per a TDI Cup driver on VWVortex, they are all being dismantled and analyzed/inspected. They will be new cars for next year as well.

cool series - I have only missed Mosport and the final event...

I saw them race at Lime Rock and got a chance to look one over closely at Summit Point. VW did some serious modifications to the car.
