WARNING! It is a positive ground!!!! Don't ask me how I know.
In reply to carguy123 :
V4 and Sonett 3 are normal negative ground from the factory. I don't know for certain on a two stroke but I doubt it, as they are largely Bosch.

Or a Cobalt SS power unit/transaxle in the front of it (and much bigger tires on the rear of it).
In reply to rustyvw :
The free wheeling can be locked out. there should be a small une the dash or it can be done under the hood on the transmission.
In reply to TurnerX19 :
Disconnect the free wheeling control . Put the lever on the transmission control in lock out. Did this on both of my 96's with no problem. They were oil injected.
In reply to iceracer :
I saw plenty of destroyed ones when I was the go to guy for Saabs in my neighborhood.Teeth torn right off the sliding engagement dog inside the transaxle.
In reply to iceracer :
Welllllll, in my defense it was the very first time I'd ever seen a positive ground system
BTW, I used to have a sports racer that used the Taunus V4 engine - nice compact units, though with limited power potential. I liked the suggestion of a small V6 if one were to hot rod it, but it would really be nice to keep it stock - there are so few of them around.
