Starts, stops, turns, makes V8 noises.
Didn’t want anyone to ding it, either.
More to come soon.
First trip: Chinese for dinner. Perfect night for some hot and sour soup.
Highway impressions and FIRM times to come soon as it’s already had a busy last few days with others on staff.
I've been getting the itch for a project lately as there isn't much left I want to do to the BRZ.
But both garage spots are taken and I don't want to leave anything in the driveway. I need to do some measuring and see if I had the fence brought up to the edge of the house if that would be enough length and width to park something there.

It only took a couple decades of being out-handled by two different generations of F-bodies for Ford to ditch the triangulated four-link.
Selling my E Street Miata, considering one of these for CSM next.
If only I knew someone that had one I could codrive.
The whole car has a nice thin film sheen of protective awfulness, but there's a lot of potential here.
S197 Mustangs continue to have some of the best steering of any modern ponycar from any brand. Yeah, I said what I said.
Mostly this one seems worn out in all the ways that will be addressed anyway during the course of the project. It's still crazy to me the condition that people sell cars in, though. A single afternoon worth of work into cleaning and fixing a few things could have improve the condition of the car immensely and probably gotten them another couple thousand dollars.
To be fair, most people don't have the knowledge or tools of the average person on this forum. To them its probably paying book rate to some guy who is probably shot gunning parts.

The average person can use a vacuum cleaner and a rag with some soap on it, though.
I got the pleasure of picking the car up last week when we bought it and I am very excited for what the future has in store for this project. It is really gross though and first thing should be a good deep clean, that key fob is way worse when you see it that close up.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Hot tip: they sell new complete fobs on Ebay. For my 08, I ordered a pair. When they arrived, I took the 3 minutes with a jewelers screwdriver and swapped guts to the new one. No reprogramming, and super easy.
I kept the replacement guts too, just in case.

I spent several days sprucing up my 08 GT before I listed her for sale. That's why I got nearly $16k for an 08 GT Premium stick with 76k miles in pretty good but not perfect shape. The car showed well and the buyer was happy to pay up. I figure that to be near peak of market money for a pre-5.0 S197 coupe.

It is wild how many people do not clean a car before listing it for sale.

It really is. I also don't understand how stupid someone can be to post pictures of the car with trash in it, or antifreeze jugs or multiple oil conditioners strewn around.
Meh. When I'm ready to sell a car, it's cause I am done with it. I don't want to spend MORE time with it.
I will however, empty anything out of the car and throw trash away. But detailing and stuff.... nope.

That's your choice to make, but they're easier to sell when they're clean. First car I sold was a Honda Civic. I had it under a cover and it was raining slightly. When I pulled the cover off and the rain started beading on the waxed paint - sold.
If you're going to clean ANYTHING, clean the windows. Makes a big difference to perceived condition and it's fairly low effort.
