Note to self: Always check the child locks for engagement on press vehicles.
I locked myself in an older BMW wagen , also locked myself in the back area of my work van and had to call my buddy to come open the door from the outside !
I do worry about cars with only electric door looks and window winders , without power you are stuck !

I once got locked out of a Viper ACR.
In the middle of no where.
My cell was inside the car.
Fob simply would not talk to the car.
Ok Paul Harvey, what's the rest of the story?
This was back whenever the Viper ACR was first introduced. I had one as a press car while in L.A. and San Diego.
I was out somewhere in the hills and was hungry. “Hey, a restaurant.” So I stopped to check it out.
Closed.
As I walked back to the car, the fob wouldn’t open the doors. No beep, no nothing.
I’m on a fairly deserted road. No other local businesses. My phone is in the car.
On the back of the fob, it said something like “press both buttons to reset.”
So I held both buttons.
One...
Two...
Three...
Beep, the car unlocked!
I believe there’s a manual lock somewhere on that car (for some reason, I want to say behind the license plate but that might be totally wrong), but the owner’s manual was in the car and this was before smartphones.
