The gearbox of a 981 Porsche Cayman is deemed a non-serviceable part, and the dealer said it would cost $15,000–the same amount we paid for the car–to replace.

Since this is Grassroots Motorsports, we weren’t satisfied with that answer and set out to see if we could fix it ourselves–and for less.

So how does she drive with 5th & 6th gear's function restored?

I drove the car to and from our test track, The FIRM, which is about 1.5 hours each way and the car is really good. I have an alert setup on FB marketplace for broken Caymans in hope I can find one too.

There is one of these at a buy here pay here lot down the street from my office. If Cayennes are any indicator they should be super cheap soon.
