now the weird part comes into asking for help. $500 or so looking for some thing that runs and moves under its own power. RWD and stick or at least RWD. something weird and small from the 70;s could be fun. chevette, pinto, vega, mavrike, spirit. something cheap that i can play with for the challange and go drifting with next year. if i total the car into a wall i can afford to walk away very easy for this amount. I am on the wis/ILL border. so if everyone can help out with craigslist by them and other places for midwest states I would buy beer for who ever can help find something.
thanks guys, I know a bunch of you guys find the weirdest stuff on here.
this way i can pick up quick, clean it and rattlecan and fix minor stuff and drag down to to try beating up the land yaghts that are showing up in force....
Why don't you go for the last minute prize and just pick up your car here in Florida once you arrive. Then again I like doing things under pressure. Not sure how you feel about that.
Stampie
keeping things open to find the right car i hope.

I think the answer in this case might be Atlanta Craigslist.
Well I'll keep my eye out. Lemme know if you want to caravan when the time comes too (southern subrubs of Chicago)

$800 ask e30 manual trans. "blown headgasket" could be anything really, but its begging for a motor swap anyway.
Also, that could be a valueable gauge cluster that I am pretty sure isn't original to the car.
EDIT: perhaps this (5.4L v12 - would be much closer to bolt in for e30 than e36): http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/pts/5180140127.html

I'll keep an eye out as well.
You could help to round out The Aristocrats Class with a couple of these choices:
'00 Benz CLK 430 ask $1,800 with a big dent.
'84 Benz 500SEL
We still need a Lincoln too. Look into Mark 7 or Mark 8

I drove a series of W126s 80,000 miles or so and I've never been tempted to autocross one...

if i go land yaght again, have bring back a delta 88. i knows those cars very well. though coming up with a german theme could be fun for rich german gentman driver...or add big off road tires to do rally theme.....
just to keep in minds guys, i suck when it comes to fixing things. i can do pads, tuneup, change a rad in an older car. beyond that i am pretty much lost for dealing with lack of skills.
to spice things up, i have a case of beer if anyone can help out and get me something.
thanks guys.
