I was perusing Autotrader.com today, and I came across this thing:
Strange Ford Fusion
It is a 2013 Ford Fusion, in gold, WITH A STICK, and the "Luxury" option group.
I read somewhere that Ford was only building manual-equipped Fusions via customer special orders, and not for dealer stock. Did grandma check off the wrong order box?
The dealership is literally just down the street from the Ford World HQ.
Actually looks like fun, with the Ecoboost motor and a stick. I wouldn't mind having that myself.
Why did I read that and think of Goldmember?
Hmm, riiiiight.

I've met a few "grandmas" who don't like automatics...
That's a nice car... and $21K seems quite reasonable. If it was that awesome dark blue I've seen these cars in I'd be in trouble.
My grandmother didn't "really trust automatic transmissions".
Maybe the stick was ordered to thwart grandma from driving accidentally into a Walgreens store entrance? I have no clue...
These Fusions are getting cheap. You can get a lot of car for around $20k or less. The SE with the appearance package is a sharp looking car.
Wow. I didn't even know a manual was an option with these!
Having driven a few dozen Fusions as rental cars (both Ecoboost and hybrid), I love them. What great cars! I would definitely consider one.
You can get the Fusion with three pedals and a turbo?

Yep. But only with the 1.6L Ecoboost. Does anyone tune these yet?

Yes, these are only optional with the 1.6L ecoboost powered SE trimmed cars.
In reply to SilverFleet:
I just built one like this(gold is no longer an option) on Ford's site for $26k and change.
I had no idea. This makes me happy that there are still cars like this available.
From what I have heard, the manual in the Fusion is the same one used in late model Escorts and Foci.
Now with more power and weight ?
With 23k miles racked up in about a year, if it was grandma, she clearly knew what she was doing.
In reply to SilverFleet:
aka the same 1.6 that is in the FiST so yes cobb has a tune. They have a '13 fusion making 170hp/247ftlbs
in their dyno database and they have a FiST making 204 hp/280 ftlb.
In reply to HappyAndy:
if you look at the car fax it was a fleet vehicle so that makes the optioning even weirder.
