When I bracket raced in the early 2000's, A guy was racing and building Motorcycle-powered Funny cars. Those things were quick on the 1/8.
There was/is a Junior Dragster class using Harley V-Twins.
Jack McClure raced rocket-powered go-karts.
On a different note, my friend Scott tried to run a Formula 500 down a dragstrip once. I guess it didn't end well. He called them and explained what a Formula 500 was before he towed down to the strip and was very specific and they said sure, they would allow it, after all, it wasn't terribly different in design than a Jr. Dragster. He got there and the same person he talked to on the phone freaks out when he lays eyes on it and refused to let him run.

The typical junior dragster classes use briggs and stratton motors.

My bad. I'm thinking about the Junior Comp. Dragsters for Teenagers.
I'm building a go kart only drag strip just to mess around on.
If you do a search you can see Shifter karts racing Lambo's and Ferrari's. They are built to go fast in the corners and have 0 safety protection. I would imagine a built up motorcycle would go way faster, you can put a parachute and rollers on it.
