So I have a few oil lines (pressure and return) which rely on NPT threads to seal. When I assembled the engine, I used teflon tape over the threads and had at it.

Well, pretty much every joint leaks, I'm not running hydraulic pressures here, at most 65 psi when cold.

So I have the van up in the air and am going to attempt to re-seal everything.

Is it better to use loctite to seal the pipe threads? Or should I simply use liquid thread sealant? any other secret sealant? I can't just tighten the joints more, some are angle specific. I was thinking blue loctite but am on the fence as loctite brand makes a thread sealant....

Take them apart clean good with brake cleaner and mix up so XPando. XPando (www.xpando.com)

It works great BUT you'll need to heat to get them apart latter so if theres one you need to remove alot i'd use

http://plumbing.hardwarestore.com/52-304-thread-sealant-compounds/joint-sealant-251900.aspx

it works great!

I could have used that at the Mitty, Damn leaky lines, I reassembled atleast 5 times. Took forever to get sealed.
