Found a 66 FSM. I was hoping for a bore measurement but just says to inspect for wear.

Oh man I need a 67 version of that!

Since car overheated -instantly pulled over - and all this still happened (SIGH).... what are your cooling recommendations that I can prevent this in the future?

Is it recommended to recore the radiator?

car ran fine for 1600 miles.  RAN the A/C (doesn't work), was blowing air, instantly  overheating  - pulled over towed it home. Will not start. Battery fully charged. She turns over "waaah waaah waaah" but wont catch to start. Popped the distributor open - everything turns inside.Without plugs in there, crank - it now spews coolant out bunch of cylinders.

then...I pulled the Cylinder heads off and I found the left side Head-gasket blown but couldn't find anything with the right side Head-gasket I found right side push Rods bent and lifter's collapse.....water got between piston rings and cylinders and piston rings washed away all the lubricant and The Cylinder block on some Cylinders is scored .

These don't have any real weaknesses other than that timing cover.  The video touched on it but you can get a lot of corrosion because of the different metals.  I'd inspect the hell of of your cover and make sure it's good for everything.  Could have been a simple head gasket failure but I'd want to make sure something on that cover didn't start the process.

Oh bonus for the 67 is you get the best factory intake and a QJet carb.  If you suspect any carb issues I'd have National Carb rebuild yours.  They usually just swap but because that's a one year QJet I'd like to keep the orginal.

Thanks. Haven't had any carb issues. BUT will keep that in mind. Yeah lots of "one year only" parts - fun fun.

Once I get the motor in..I will do a full check on the cooling system.  I read elsewhere - few people who had similar problems as me, ONLY happened, once they turned the A/C button on.

There's a guy.  He's the AC guy in the Cadillac LaSalle club. Like he gives lectures on AC at the Grand Nationals.  I'll try and remember his name.

Ok I didn't forget you.  More of my brain farted.  So his name is Greg Surfas.  This is where I feel bad.  He's the president of the Modified Chapter of the CLC.  Yeah a chapter I founded years ago.  I just couldn't put his forum name (Cadillac Kid) with his real name and the fact that he's the AC expert.  You can get him at the Modified Chapter forum here:

http://www.modifiedcadillac.org/forum/index.php

Or on Facebook here:

I'm pretty sure he doesn't hate me so you can tell him that I sent you.  If you have problems registering for the Modified Chapter forum let me know and I can push it through.  If I remember my admin password.

Seems I could easily envision a trunk full of Stratocasters or Les Pauls.  That is a musician's car.
