This being the holiday weekend, what's up with everyone's projects and honey do lists? I'm at some point backing my truck out long enough to get stuff in/out of the garage . . . so I may be honoring the old tradition of driving a project car on a milk crate. I had a cat take up residence inside my old Dakota for 3 (!) weeks and I had to yank the carpet . . . seats are still in question. Ooooooooof. Headgasket repairs will be done sometime too . . . wonder if I can get it done this weekend . . who knows. Anyone else?

I hope to make a trip to pick up my Suzuki Samurai Tintop!

Otherwise, I'll be working on rebuilding the carburetors on my '71 Honda CL175. Probably trying to free up one of the throttle cables on the '89 VTR250.

I'll try out the $30 riding mower I picked up (and installed a $25 battery in).

Fixing the clutch on my '71 CB750, rebuilding the carbs on a friend's '80 CB650, fixing the cat and exhaust on the DeLorean, and changing the oil on the '94 Passat GLX and the '91 325i. I think that's it...well, I HOPE that's it.

Well, it's not a holiday weekend here but I've got some plans for the Elan anyway: swap headlights for LHD ones; clean and "polish" the rear screen so I can actually see out it with the hood up; get the lights in the gauge cluster working; meet up with the German Club Lotus and possibly go karting ; find and rent a garage

Ambitious? In reality I'll probably only get one of those done (it'll be the "karting" one.)

Taking it pretty easy this weekend. Going to try and get the TR-6 up and running, putting a new interior in Tommy's Spitfire, getting the TR3 ready to run at Ocala on Tuesday, as well as the Tiger which needs traction bars built before Tuesday and a whole bunch of sorting. With so little to do, will probably change the gas tank in the Corvair and hopefully discover why it stopped getting fuel.

Put Miata shock assemblies together last night (FM Springs, KYB AGX shocks, FatCat mounts and bumpstops). Going to install them tomorrow.

Girlfriend needs to change her oil (which she actually knows how to do herself), but I'll probably provide moral support. She might bleed her brakes too.

Sunday/Monday: Rock climbing, hanging out with Miata/climbing buddies, enjoying local microbrews, testing out new suspension setup on Miata.

Tango on Saturday. Swing/Blues on Sunday.

Tonight: changing master cylinder, proportioning valve, reattaching the e-brake cable, bleeding brakes, reinstalling coolant system, changing belts, adding 5 gallons of gas and hopefully starting the CSX after 7 years of sitting. The brake stuff will likely continue into Saturday as well.

Saturday: Hopefully driving CSX across town to begin swapping the drivetrain out with a better one from a donor Daytona until I can get the numbers matching block rebuilt properly. This includes swapping the exhaust. Luckily we can usually get the drivetrains in and out of these cars in about 8 hours if we take our time.

Sunday: Cleaning house, sorting out the office a bit more, filing, driving to Hood River to visit friends and check out their bookstore and downtown HR, now that mainstreet is repaired. Maybe I'll find time to drill some holes in my megasquirt case since most of the parts have come in for my Porsche. I'd like to watch the Indy 500, but I'd rather not spend the day sitting on my ass in front of the boob tube.

Mopnday: Hopefully finish swapping the Daytona drivetrain into the CSX and driving it home and up to Memorial Cemetary to pay my respects to my grandparents. If the CSX survives driving to/from work next week, then I'll have an autocross car for the following weekend. Otherwise, I'll likely find time to replace the front struts in the Turbo Caravan so I can continue daily driving it without killing myself or getting seasick and will rent a solstice or a miata for the autoX next weekend.

Here's to memorial day weekend projects. May we consume mass quntities of beer (or whatever floats your boat) and still get some work done!

man I'm so jealous of you guys. I can't work on my car in my apartment complex, nor do I have the money to buy more things for it. Hopefully my Benz will sell this weekend but its a long shot so I'm spending my weekend mostly working. Go State Parks! You'd be amazed how many people are pissed to be camping. I thought camping was fun but then I started working at a campground and realized that I am pretty rare in liking it.

long weekend for the canadians was last weekend. Did a little c-a-n-o-e trip and replaced gas tank straps on dad's Contour.

This weekend should have been about replacing clutch master/slave on truckzilla and waterpump/t-belt on speedracer but turns out I'm hammering some bodymetal over all the missing sections of my sisters '92 4-door blazer :whatthe: stay tuned for pics of the carnage

My Mk1.5 fired up for the first time last night. Time to bleed the cooling system and spend some quality time with a beer in one hand and a torque wrench in the other. Maybe I can drive a mufflerless turbocharged car to work on Tuesday.

Finish head job on Mikey.. Got head back from the machine shop last week; already bolted down and torqued. Now details. Intake/ exhaust manifolds, timing belt, etc. back on. Iinstall new mechanical SRT-4 style tensioner (1st time,; might take awhile), Hook everything up and get it running and ready for next week's Watermelon Grand Prix in Cordele. Hopefully. Wash and wax the poor thing. Fill him up with 93+ octane and drive the ~40 miles it takes for the computer to re-learn engine management maps. Ride with windows down to air out interior that's been sitting for months.

well here's a tiny update. Weather was too damp to dig into bodywork on my sister's blazer, so we went at the front brakes. All was going good until bolting the caliper back on and one of the threaded holes in the spindle was stripped. Let's not discuss the price of a 7/16-20 tpi Heli-coil kit

Tomorrow will be a good chance to do rear brakes on my F150 and maybe help dad with his Contour.

Tore down a BMW M50 2.5L block so it can go off to the machine shop... boring it out and stroking 'er to 2.9L and lightening up some bits for a ridiculous CCA DMOD/NASA GTS2 winter project. You have to get the winter projects started in the spring or they will never get done by the following summer

Oh.. and I mowed the lawn.
