About every 18 months, I go into need-to-get-a-Porsche mode. I buy all of the books, read all of the online buyer's guides and generally scare myself out of ever getting involved with one. OMG, that's me! I managed to talk myself out of one the last time by deciding to go racing instead. I just never had the courage to pull the trigger on something that, while I could probably fix it myself, would nevertheless be a frustrating and expensive problem. As much as I lust for the sound of a Porsche flat six behind me, the fun I can have in dozens of other cars for less cost and headache simply doesn't tip the scales the right way for me. Good for you for not falling prey to the "skip the PPI, I know all about cars" mentality that I would have.
