Found the first piece for OLOA prep 2018:
Brey Krause is working on some new race seat brackets that will utilize the OE BMW seat base. this is essentially what the e46 CSL does in Europe (although with fancy tilt mechanism too)
Matt and I are both roughly the same leg length so making the race seat solid bolted to the floor work was not really an issue although for transits it would've been nice to move the seat back a couple more inches from the "race" setting.
ohh, I smell a build thread about to be started
Brad aka Klod what program did you use to determine the splitter width? and is that marine grade plywood you used?
Build thread, what a good idea!
I'll do that tomorrow!
759, It's just standard home depot wood, no fancy marine grade, and then painted with spray bedliner from a can. Gives it a very nice finish that doesn't look like wood. It is starting to splinter on the edge a little bit so either a better/more thorough sealing technique or Marine Grade would be a better solution.
The size of it was determined based on the most restrictive class rules the car competes in: Gridlife Time Attack, which stipulate all aero must be within 5" when viewed from above. the splitter is 4.9" out from the front bumper when viewed from above. Due to the way the bumper tucks back as it gets lower it actually sticks out about 6.5-7" from the bumper at the base.
The theory was, between wing/diffuser you can generate far more rear aero so, maximize front as allowed by the rules
Klod jus wonderin after all that Loose(SCCA EMOD MGB GT) went thru with the PinkP (F1 related brainiac ran the program)...not that I'd run that much on the front of the V, but looking to put at least inch..inch and half up front for starters....(mostly cosmetic )
