Just to be clear-the 34 pound optimum pressure in the Kumho XS was hot, right?
Thanks
I dunno, but I'm confused as to why they tried so many different pressures on the R-Comps and not on the XS's.
Andy Hollis (writer/tester for the article) also did the street tire testing that was in GRM a little while back and had already dialed in pressures for the street tires (XS in this case)
I dunno about you, but the ideal pressure for my ST tires are different at every autocross due to surface conditions, temperature, and weather. Just seemed a little biased towards the r-comps...
Did I miss a street tire shoot out somewhere in the past issues? Why was all the hope pinned on the XS to perform as good as a R-comp? Just because they were both the same manufacturer? Or did the XS prove it's worth in another test that I missed?
I wonder how newer UHP tires would perform against a R-comp, like Dunlop Star Spec's or Falken's reformulated 615-K. I just think that there might have been better choices that the XS.

June 09 had the street tire test. the XS won that test.
