One correction to the Future Classics article in the May 2014 issue...it said that production of the 1964 GTO was limited to 5000 cars. It's true that the GM brass initially said they could only build 5000 of them, but they actually sold over 34,000 that first year.

Still, it was a good article.

And there are probably 90,000 semi-GTO's floating around the classic market since the GTO at first was just an option and doesnt have a separate VIN.

The good thing about Pontiacs is you can send away to Pontiac Historic Services and get the original paperwork for a car, so it's easy to tell if it's a real GTO or a clone.
