Prefer your race car movies to be free of any of those pesky things like plot, storyline or character arcs?
Lucky for you, an edited version of Le Mans exists that’s just the racing bits–cutting the film down from about 106 minutes to a little over 43 minutes.

Oh heck yeah! I need to watch this on TV with the sound cranked up!
Now do the original Gone in 60 Seconds with just the car chase.
Oh, wait....

Just the racing bits, everything else is just waiting.
Watched LeMans last night on a cable channel with no ads. I forgot how realistic much of the car footage was. It makes many more recent attempts at racing movies pale in comparison. It also shows just how utterly insane that race was in the early 70's in terms of average lap speed, safety protocols, etc.
In reply to Purple Frog (Forum Supporter) :
Totally insane.
I had the 917 AFX car as a kid and pictured it as a closed race car. Totally safe and protected, right?
Then I saw one in the flesh–and saw the bare frame and where it places the driver's legs. Yikes. And no thanks.
Man oh man, if I ever get my hands on a time machine, Le Mans during the late 60's is going to be one of my first stops.

Somebody do this with Bullitt. Every second of that movie not in a car sucks. Don't @ me.
That is just brilliant! And not so very far from our amateur club racing today. How things have changed.
