In case you care, I drive a Scion xD regularly and kind of like it. Pretty good chassis and motor (surprisingly wide power band for a 1.8.) The shifter is meh and the DWB throttle kind of sucks, but I am surprised how much I like it on a twisty road. I even pitched it backward into a ditch (bald rear tires in the rain) and once it got towed out, it just kept on going like nothing happened. Tough little bugger.
Back to Fiestas, I used to want one with an ecoboost 1.0 until I learned it's a wet belt design. That changed my mind. No thank you. Stick with the MT and the 1.6. Watch I Do Cars tear down of the eco boost if you think you still want the 1.0 I3.
I really like the Fiesta and would not be surprised if I end up with one someday. They do make me nervous for rollovers though. Might worth getting ST shocks and springs just to keep the shiny side up.
