You know, those one way flappy things hidden behind bumper covers, in the back of cabs.
I am guessing they are a lot for being able to close doors, to let the pressure out. But are they needed?? Working on a pass through to a box on a pickup, and they are kinda in the way....
They also let air out so the heater can draw fresh air in.

They keep a lot of dust out.

Sorry i wasn't clear, can i just block the holes off instead of having the vent?

Not if you want the HVAC to work well. You won't get much air pushed through the vents with the doors/windows closed if there's nothing to let the air out.
The vents could be blocked off and re-located elsewhere though.

Thanks! That's what I figured.
They were installed behind carpet tho, odd.
There is a 3'x2' hole going to the box now, that may help a bit

OK Ill update this. They are stupid! I wish I had not put them back in. They are literally duct taped closed right now.
Im sure this is due to having weird aero back there now being a box truck, but further research shows they were also behind the old carpet....
They are LOUD, and are always open sucking cold air into the cab with the box on. Should have covered them with sheet metal....
