I am warming up to the idea of spraying the Roadmonster Wagon with a 75 or 100 shot. I want to pipe in a single wet fogger nozzle in front of the TB, grabbing fuel from the pressure test port on the rail. I understand how everything works, what jets to use, how to wire it, etc.
It seems the cost bottleneck for nitrous kits is the solenoids and bottles. Lines, fittings, jets, relay, and wiring can all be found very cheap. But solenoids seem to be minimum $50 each for bottom end stuff (need 1 fuel and 1 nitrous) and bottles are about $75 second hand. 100 hp for about $250 is not bad at all, but I think we can do better. We are GRM after all!
I've checked eBay, CL, and even looked at commercial CO2/NO2 handling solenoids, but can't seem to get under that cost floor. Any suggestions?
Wait and watch. Good deals come and go. Go hang out at drag strips.
I bought the plate system (minus the micro switch) for out TR8 Challenge car for around $95. It was for sale 3 miles from my house. That was around 5 years ago. Now everyone around heed seems to want $400. I've pretty much stopped looking. But keep looking, deals do pop up.
The Fuel injected system we've used on 4 challenge cars was pretty cheap on ebay, but it's a small shot kit made for Hondas. I think we got lucky because a lot of Honda street racer guys bought them.
Look at a used cold-start injector for spraying additional fuel.
I bought the sniper plate kit i ran on my capri complete for 200 new in box at a swap meet in columbus. Deals are out there if you shop around. He even threw in a free bottle fill.
Id sell you my whole kit minus the one solenoid im missing for $100. But the bottle is full and i dont know it they will let me ship it like that
