One think that I'll say about gearing for autocro versus drags, and this is coming from an autocross guy, is you can left foot brake in an effort to compens for too tall of gearing through the slower speed sections of an autocross course, there's no way to compensate or adjust in drags. Target the top of 4th at the end of the strip and go from there.

Can you tell us what the CTR ran? I was out working the course when it did a few laps, and I wasn't quite close enough to see the time board.

If I have to wait for the challenge issue, that's cool too.

The last number was 8.4XX. I forget whether the times were 38s or 48s, though. Basically it was two seconds off of Ga Tech.

Nice, 48.4 then. I think that puts it 4th in autox!

I'm gearing the drivetrain out for the drags and whatever it ends up as is the autocross setup.

Actually, what's much more impressive is if you normalize the time gap between the Georgia Tech car and this CTR against the CTR times in D-street at SCCA nationals this year, You can see that the Georgia Tech car could be a solid mid pack finish in X prepared, D mod, or E mod, and it wouldn't even be DFL in A mod.

Now, this makes a lot of assumptions, one of which is if the CTR at the challenge ran similar tires to the CTRs in B street at nats, but still, that's beating some really high $$ machinery for $2k.

The CTR was on the OEM tires which were COOKED. We actually sent it back on cords, but they also sent it to us knowing we were going to track test it and figuring they should wait until we were done for fresh rubber. A proper DS-prepped car with good 200tw rubber and some camber would have been a second faster I bet. Still, I don't think it could have ever seriously challenged the GT car.
