get a full size van with a 350... they aren't that much bigger than an Astro, they get about the same gas mileage, and they have more power.
The final-generation Astros are pretty nice. If you get an AWD one, pay someone else to do the plugs and wires.
Meh... they're OK. The 4.3 will tow 5000 with no issues and its basically a 350 with two fewer cylinders. Its a nice van, but very vanilla. You'll get good use out of it but will never be inspired by it.
Am I still on GRM? I thought a bunch of you loved those ugly, silly things. 
Just bought one this morning. 05 AWD with 88000 miles. Gonna love it!
