Oh my...

Are these relatively easy to find on the cheap? Or have they all rusted?

I'm less interested about the 4age than i am in the AE86 suspension goodies attached to a 3tc-powered E7.

There were tons of them in Nevada/California. These were common cars, you should be able to find one in good condition. 3tc is a good little engine too, as long as you don't want more than about 180 hp.

I occasionally see some for sale here, and there seem to be a bunch of 1st gen Celicas floating around NorCal.

My Celica might actually be for sale thanks to some unexpected large bills connected to my CJ7 purchase .

You can't fool me... i've seen the youtube videos of turbo 3tc engines.... Those videos are the only reason i have for wanting one.

Oh, and aftermarket stuff seems to be CHEAP for them on the bay.

I've even seen a few of those early 80s corollas show up in the east coast with most of their metal intact. Do like.

I never even thought of pre 80s japanese steel until I read the GRM article on a F22C swapped 72. Now I cant help but CL search TA22s every so often. Things like this:

And this

Haunt my dreams. Its rare when one pops up here in the crust belt, but every so often one pokes its head out.

I had one as a screensaver at work, and people EVERY DAY asked me what year mustang/camaro/challenger I had on my screensaver. Peoples heads exploded when I told them it was a toyota.

oh yeah, notchback > fastback, no doubt about it.

BE CAREFUL..... part of the AE86 capability in earlier E7 chassis is rack and pinion steering... and it is not possible to run the factory rack with the "T" engine series... and so if you run "T", you run worm and roller

Btw... I'm VERY prejudice on this subject

I believe that was Koich's car in the magazine. The one that made me fall in love with the the early Celica as well. Though I ran across it on the interwebs prior to the article.

Does anyone know if he sold that car? I think I remember it being for sale.

"Put up or shut up" time....

1975 Celica GT 20/22R built to LC Engineering spec Holley Demon carb MSD ignition Battery relocated to trunk Fuel cell Holley fuel pump Lexus SC300 W58 5 Speed Front adjustable coilovers Rear KYB's with lowering springs Techno Toy Tuning tension rods Front strut tower brace Front Wilwood BBK with slotted/drilled rotors Interior was originally brown - now black Front and rear seats reupholstered Dash wrapped in black A-pillar vinyl dyed Grant GT wheel '75s did not look as good as the earlier models, mainly due to safety regulations that required huge front and rear bumpers. This car is almost fully converted to a '71-72. The rear conversion is complete, including shaving the fuel door from the c-pillar and relocating it to the panel between the tail lights. '72 rear bumper, lower panel, tail lights and center panel are all installed. Up front I have installed a '72 "smiley" bumper and '72 mirror. '75 "bulge" hood is retained for a more aggressive look. Asking price is $5500 OBO. Car is located in Louisville, KY. I have two front lips for the car also that I may let go with it for the right offer.
