SWMBO has an uncle with an 02-05 Explorer Sport sitting in his barn that he will let go for the princely sum of $1. He says it won't pass inspection due to underbody rust.

What's good to scrap out of these? It's auto, pretty sure 4.0 V6. 190k miles. They've had a lot of vehicles last a long time, so I'm inclined to believe it has been taken care of maintenance wise.

A SOHC 4.0 with the timing chains changed (easy to do if you are yanking it!) is worth some money to the Exploder gangs.

Tranny too if it works properly.

I always thought that motor would be a good swap candidate for an early Capri. Same engine family as the 2.8, right?

Rear 8.8 with disc brakes? Swap out Jeep XJ Dana 35 etc.?

The transmissions without the dipstick up top were a frequent failure point, either from poor design or the lack of proper maintenance induced by not having a dipstick. If it's one of those and it's good, there's a market, but I wouldn't know a price.

Also, an unbroken plastic panel below the rear hatch glass is worth money as well.

Rear ends are a good swap candidate for a lot of stuff.

motors - see above comments.

I think I'll go back and see if it's the LSD 8.8 rear diff. If it is I could grab that and scrap the rest for net profit.
