Better aftermarket is debatable. Remember-its a gussied up Supra.

I have owned my 1995 SC300 5 speed for8 years now and I still love my car. I bought my car as a certified pre-owned with 50K and spent about $13,000 on the car. The fact that you can get a clean stock 5 speed for around $5,000 blows my mind. At that price point these car are worth EVERY penny.

There are a ton of suspension mods available for these cars. They share a chassis with the MKIV toyota supra so almost all parts are a bolt on affair. My car has, among other things, SUPRA TT FLCAs, JIC FLTA-2 coilovers, supra TT sway bars, full poly bushing kit, JIC FSTB, LS400 4 pot brakes, factory TT wheels(17x8 and 17x9.5 with 235F 265 R RT-615 and many other mods. The car is completely different from the way it was when I bought it. I successfully took most of the luxury out and it is much more of a Supra than it is an SC at this point.

As far as weight there is no problem there. My car(95 5spd SC300) was 3495 from the factory, but luckily there are a ton of useless luxury items that can help to reduce the weight. My car is now at 3200lbs, which is fairly reasonable for such a large car. I also have a complete interior at this point. If you want more details you can shoot me an e-mail at Level10Graphics@gmail.com and i will go more in depth.

As far the the helmet issue that somebody else brought up, there are things you can do to help with that. I put in the OEM supra TT seats, they sit 2 inches lower and the combo saves you approx 100lbs over the stock set up. The seats are well bolstered and the leather matches perfectly.

Finding a 5 speed version in the Atlanta area that's not either driven into the ground or someone's questionably done turbo project is nearly impossible. I say grab that one if it doesn't have anything worse than the ad states.

^ This comment is extremely true. 5 speeds in good shape fetch a MUCH higher price than comparable automatic cars. I spent 3 months looking for a nice 5 speed when I was looking for my car.

These cars are no popular at the track, of all the events I have attended I have never seen another SC on the track. In other areas of the world, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, they are MUCH more popular track cars.

Keep in mind these cars were the flagship coupe and fetched prices around $50,000. I have owned an e36 325is and the BMW pales in comparison to my SC, at least my SC after the modifications.

As far as power options you can turbo the NA 2jz, do a 2jzGTE swap, a 1JZ swap or slap the V8 in a 5speed car. I just bought a 4.7L 2uz bottom end and a 1uz top end, after oversized valves, cams, headers and some light tuning I should have about 350whp/350tq available at a crazy low RPM.

They are not the best autox cars out there, but I still have blast autoxing it. When properly modified they are killer road racing cars. I have surprised many people on the track.

Its late and I forgot to add several other things I feel are important. I will add to this thread tomorrow when I have a little more energy! I would be more than happy to ask any questions you may have. Right now these cars are an absolute bargain, so much so that I have been thinking about buying a second if the perfect car comes along.

I am 24 and have had 14 cars. This is the only vehicle that I have owned for more than a year. They are great vehicles and to say they are underrated in the states is an understatement. Hope this helped!

Thanks,

Josh
