I looked at some early testing, and it didn't do all that well. They updated and added more trims, so as I said I would, I looked again. It looks like the Maverick Tremor trim might have serious enough chops to do more off-road than many owners will ever ask it to do. The bummer seems to be the Tremor has a 2k tow rating. The Maverick seems to be a vehicle of compromise that'll do a bunch of stuff well enough, but when you start trying to make it do specific things, you lose out in other places.

All that said, it's probably more truck than most people outside of the trades really use often.

If the current crv/accord/civic hybrid setup was available in a Ridgeline I'd be stopping at the Honda dealership after work this evening.

Do, i drove the hybrid and the ecoboost awd versions today. Think im going for an ecoboost/awd/4k tow 24 in black.

Now, local dealer offers a lifetime power train warrety with the forst three years of service included for 3k. Their trucks are all marked at msrp. Theyre willing to loan me a used one to pound some miles on to see if i like the seats long term.

Can i haggle over msrp? Do we have some sort of discount cheat code being grm/scca? Ive NEVER bought a new car, or financed a car. So im really nieve here...

Just so its not lost on the previous page.

On the lifetime warranty: i really need a copy to read through so i can see wat kind of hoops are required to make it worth my while. Thanks for pointing that out!

This is what i want

This is what they gave me based on what new was on the lot last night.

I hear ya,is it weird I like the Ridgeline because it doesn't have that yet? :)

Also weirdly the updated Pilot got a new non VTEC V6 and not hybrid so seemingly no intend anytime soon.

Assuming your link is right, you're jumping up 15% before tax/fees/etc. Are you getting 15% more truck?

Yeah the one they worked up for me is the brand new one they have on the lot. Wrong color options I don't need or want Etc. Supposedly they're going to try to track down the one I do want which is what I linked to as a spec.

But it gave me ballpark numbers to work with

F that Albemaele promise line item.

You maintain your vehicles. How many $80 retail oil changes will you need in three years time? .. probably less than one third of that $3k.

The standard Ford warranty is plenty for peace of mind.

So, when I did mine...

I joined Mustang Club of America to get X-plan. You need it 90 days before PAYING for your vehicle. (it when you pay, not when you order).

I ordered the options I wanted from Ford through my local dealer, had confirmed that they would accept X-plan.

Waited almost a year (they were still a hot commodity and had a wait), truck came in.  I got the X-plan code in and paid MSRP in cash and drove home my truck.

The x-plan cuts the price and limits dealer fees. Was well worth getting the Mustang Club membership for a year at $35.

I didnt do an extended warranty or any of that. The only dealer extra I did was a spray in bedliner. Having seen a friends with the factory spray in, I think the dealer actually did a nicer job.

"Market Value Selling Price" seems like a junk term for "Whatever we can charge for this thing". I just built a 2024 XLT with AWD, 4k tow package, spray in bed liner and keyless entry for $32, 365 including an estimated $2300 in destination /dealer fees on Ford's site.

$38k seems like you're getting mugged to me. Definitely skip the dealer warranty.

It's the end of the year, and MY25 includes some big changes over MY24 so you have some leverage here.

Not to steal the excitement of a NEW vehicle but maybe to save you the aggravation of new car dealers...

Since you are interested in a 2.0L w/ tow package, that configuration has been available since launch in 2020.  Is it possible you could find a used model at significant savings; maybe private party?

Buying it with a loan is as easy as just talking to your favorite bank or credit union.

What I'm seeing on carvana and Facebook Marketplace isn't much of a savings at all compared to what the Ford website says I should be paying. I'm going to try a different dealer tomorrow that has the linked truck in stock supposedly and see what their numbers look like versus Ford's website and Albemarle Ford if it turns out you can't actually buy one of these for what Ford says you should be able to, that makes used a much more attractive proposition. Not going to lie I also don't know all of the expensive used car Outlets for the new used cars. I'm used to looking for used up junk at the under $3,000 mark

$10k savings, that's like 25% less.  He's had it listed for 4 months.  There might be some more room on the price.

New 2024 FORD TRUCK Maverick XLT SuperCrew in Ann Arbor #244552 | Varsity Ford

They have two more black ones, but about $7K more. They're a big dealer, currently showing 78 Mavericks in inventory.

I sat behind one at a traffic light yesterday.  Underneath the Maverick lettering on the tailgate was:

"Talk to me, Goose".

I laughed.

You can, and should, haggle over MSRP. They've started the process for you by listing it on their site for less than MSRP now, and still for a price that Edmunds thinks you could do better on... For whatever that's worth.

You can take the hard route and pound the ground to find out which dealers are willing to compete for the lowest possible price. You can also take the easy routs and do something like X-Plan, Costco, or whatever other pre-negotiated 'low-price' options you might find.

You can, and should, haggle over that outrageous dealership documentation fee.

You can, and should, haggle over that $1k trade allowance.

While their "Market Value Selling Price" does look to be MSRP on this car, that wording tells me they'll sell for over MSRP when market conditions allow. I'm not sure how up front they are about this in person, but their site also implies (IMO) the 'Promise' is included at no extra charge for every car, because they don't mention it being a cost add and there are dealerships out there that include such things at no charge just to sell more volume and make you more likely to get your service done through them. However, they're tacking it in there as an upcharge that the customer has to get removed. This feels at least like a 'medium sketch' dealership, so keep your guard up. I would not pay anywhere close to $3k for a 'lifetime powertrain warranty' that just as likely may be equivalent value to use as TP plus the first couple of (cheapest) services.

Yes, haggle. It's coming up on the end of the quarter. Sales folks bonuses are based on numbers of units sold.  When I bought my truck , it was a week until the end of a quarter and I beat the MSRP by several thousand dollars on a truck they didn't even have in their inventory. They got it from another dealer to get the colour I wanted.

Based on this thread, I took a quick look at Maverick inventory in the Northeast corner of greater Cincinnati, and my ... how things have changed!  Twenty nine Mavericks either on the lot or arriving soon, all showing $750 discount from MSRP.  I counted 13 of the 29 as being on the lot right now per their webpage.  All show as 2024 models, if that matters one way or the other ... no 2025's listed.

I figure if they are showing that, it's a starting point for the real negotiation, especially with that level of inventory.

This dealer a few months ago was still trying to get a 'market adjustment' of up to $10k over MSRP depending on trim level.

Oops - I forgot to add this to my post above ... this guy's mechanical / repair oberservation reviews are pretty interesting to watch.  I think he has a shop in the Chicago area, and is actually in the repair business. This one is his review of the 2024 Maverick.
