I'm thinking of using some of the metric ton of air cooled VW parts I inherited to go racing...

Formula Vee is what I was thinking, but it seems that Formula First has replaced it.

How popular is the Formula First series? Where do I find a used (but not used-up) Formula First/Formula Vee race car? I've checked eBay and racingjunk.com, and I haven't really found much.

Has anyone here raced in the series? Looks like a fun, low-budget way to get on track and have some fun.

Highly interested in a answer to this as well. I have tons of VW parts in storage and it looks cheap and very compeitive in the videos on youtube.

Formula Vee ~vintage~ racing is growing. Lots of older guys are dragging thier old Vees out of the garage and campaigning them again.

Here in the northeast USA, -VRG- has more and more Vees at their events (still three events left for '10 if you'd like to see an event).

I crew on a Vee. I think SR racing SR racing has a lot of info, including for sale. Be advised that there is not a lot of room for creativity as the spec has been run to it's almost ultimate form. Still fun though. Formula first is getting a revival of sorts. Also have a friend in VRG considering a Vee.

Me too actually. I attribute it to some kind of VW brain damage. Plus the take offs will fit on the Smart rims!
