Well, E36 M3, I think we actually met then. Yes, that was Darrin who you let work at your house. I was there when you were in the our garage. While you were there, one of my teammates had told me that Darrin found someone he didn't know to let him work from their house. I went over to him to bust his stones about just working in the house of a stranger, and you happened to be there. I'm sure you don't remember specifically, as there are a lot of us hanging around the garage. I was the balding middle age guy...OK, that's half our team...more specifically the skinnier one, probably wearing a dark red sweatshirt at that point (freezing my ass off).

I remember your car. If you drove opening shift Sunday, we were on the track at the same time. I was definitely going slower in the Hombre than I'm capable of. That was the trucks' maiden voyage and it took me a while to get comfortable with it. Towards the end of my shift, I started picking up the pace more.

Last year a group of friends and I thought we'd give chumping a try. We didn't do enough research ahead of time about ALL the costs involved. Gas can, fire suits, entry fees, spares, cage, on and on and on. It started to look like our 100 dollar car was gonna run to 5K to prep, with $1,500 per person for proper gear and somewhere around a grand each for a weekend (entry, fuel, lodging, food) if nothing broke. It's not bad for some, it was out of reach for a bunch of broke-ass autocrossers with other bills to pay.

If I really needed to get on track for a race I'd rent a seat.

Small world, haha. I met so many damn people that night that I'm sure I'd remember but probably couldn't pick anyone out of a lineup specifically aside from Darrin. A lot of people looked at me funny about having a stranger work at my house while I wasn't there, but I don't know. I'll probably get burned someday down the road from it, but I just saw it as a guy needing help and me having a solution. No big deal really. I was going to head over Saturday night to hang out as well, but we ended up staying up pretty late working on the car instead.

I'm just gonna wear a GRM t shirt everywhere I go. Although I did meet you and Pseudosport within like 20min of each other on Friday... So that's 4 grm'ers here, including myself. I don't know if Sonic was up this weekend or not. He's part of 3 pedal mafia too.

Yup, I was there...if 3PM is racing anywhere then I'm there, basically. I ran the giraffe Honda closing on Saturday and the Hombre closing on Sunday.

Thanks for helping out Darrin, I know he really appreciated it.

Yes, Sonic is the head of the team I drive for, 3 Pedal Mafia. He was there.

Low rpm torque is awesome. I had more fun than I care to admit in a fwd tdi beetle this weekend because of it.

Then we lost all boost and the car drove slower than the New Yorker, haha.

It was nice talking and racing with you guys this weekend. I didn't realize how many GRM guys race in Lemons east.

There is a lot of good advice in this thread. I'm still fairly new so I don't have much to add that wasn't already covered. Every race I learn something new. This time it was to check electrical connections and clean up the 40+ year old contacts that don't like getting wet.
