So, the rx8 has suddenly decided it didn't want clearcoat on the front bumper anymore!  It all just decided it was gonna start flaking in 1 day after a rainstorm.

As far as I can tell, the paint and clearcoat are original.

How do I make this look okay/ decent but not ruin for a proper repaint in the future?

Wet sand and clearcoat?  If so, can ya hit me with some advice?  What grit?  What lubricant?  What type of clearcoat?

Any advice is appreciate!

I have wetsanded and recleared with success. Anything loose needs to come off obviously, i stick to 1500-2000 for the feathering because coarser papers can cut right through the color and leave you stuck.

Well...  I followed Patrick and Michael's advice....

It seems this was an aftermarket paint job and the clear itself....  wasn't.  It had a dark blue tint to it.

That means that once sanded and cleared, it's a different shade.

Still looks better than peeling paint.  Should still be able to get a pro to fix it post challenge.

Some clears are tinted. Looks like you found one.
