I have a aftermarket side skirts I'm installing. They don't come pre-drilled, so I need to line each piece up with the car and then mark/drill to line up with 4 existing bolt holes underneath the car. Is there a secret technique for this that I've just been missing out on all these years?

Get a bolt, or 4 that fit the holes. Cut the head off the bolt and grind the now round end to a point. Screw the bolt pointy side out into the hole you want to copy. Hold or tape the side skirt in location and then push the side skirt against the pointy bolt. A gentle tap or two with a hammer will help create a punch mark on the side skirt exactly where the bolt is, ready for drilling.
Something like this works very well.

Hah, you read what I did, "Property for drilling a hole."
Thanks for the tips guys. I wasn't aware that tool existed but it seems like something good to have around for next time.

Thought I'd seen that done around here somewhere before. Much better written up than my explanation, well done sir.
