We just installed a Bosch based on most of the recommendations on here. It's not nearly as annoying as my mother's Bosch. Super quiet. Gets the dishes clean. Has the 3rd rack for long things. We shall see if it is more durable than the one it replaced. It was damn sure more expensive.
I'm bumping this thread because our hateful, 18 month old Samsung threw a fatal code and E36 M3 the bed last night.
I'm annoyed that I need to buy another dishwasher, but I won't miss this thing.
18 months? How is this an acceptable life span for a major appliance? I would find a way to launch that thing through the front window of whatever store sold it to me.

Our Samsung wasn't much better. It had a sensor failure at the 2-year point. Parts were NLA.

I know this is going to jinx me, but my Bosch has been running flawlessly for 12 years ... daily. Its the quietest dishwasher I ever had.
We too had a Samsung that had a sensor failure at 13 months. I had it fixed twice and kicked it to the curb. We replaced it with a Bosch and it's by far the best dishwasher I've every used. I think it's 5-6 years old now.
I signed up for Consumer Reports today. Their top eight recommended dishwashers are made by Bosch. Plus numbers eleven, twelve and fifteen through twenty.
I'm on my way to go Bosch shopping right now.

The best deal I found was Home Depot online. And dont get set on a particular model until you find one in stock. There is a pretty major shortage of appliances at the moment.

I, for one, would be very interested to know which make/model they recommend as the best value from that article...

Selection has been poor.
