its 86 rx7 with factory clutch LSD. I would run 3rd gear in my mid-rpm because up top is all wheel speed, lots of sideways.
Winterforce with out studs suck on ice.
I will agree with Iceracer. a worn set of winferforce on a RX7 might give you a less then great experience. I would start with a set of new Blizzaks. This will REALLY make a difference.

Well new blizzaks cost money, money I don't have...
I have only have several hundred miles on my winterforces, (bought them 2nd hand but they were never mounted/used for $100) the tread isnt worn just some of the studs are ripped off from rallycross.
I'm well aware that there are better ice tires out there but I'll consider that thought next season or just cage it and go studs class.

Looked back at ice racing in Winnipeg, MB back in the early 90's. The non-stud winning car was a civic with dual wheels on the front. It was odd and quick. Looked for pictures online, but failed. I did watch some racing:

Funny how the shortest cars are all at the front eh?
Also regarding the dual wheeled civic,we had a guy do the same thing here in the late '90's with a gti rabbit. The rules stated 24 studs per foot per tire, the rules were changed for the following year to read something like only 4 tires may be used per car.Didn't really matter as the car was slow and usually broken and never even came close to leading a race let alone win one.
Some neat Ice Racing Videos.
