So the interior is completely pulled out of the GLH, dash and everything. So I guess this is good time as any to look in the sound and heat management. The firewall in the front of the floors get very hot in these cars, in the roof has the structural integrity of a tin can so it's very loud even with a headliner in it.
I was curious what everyone used for heat management on firewalls and for sound detonating in general I plan on using it on the roof floors inside the doors and rear hatch area.
I'm also looking at rubberized coatings for the floor to try to help with that also, The car's been to the track once since it's together and all the rocks and stuff hitting off the floor is about enough to drive you nuts on the street.
Edit: PO put some tar backed foil of some sort on lower portion of firewall and floor and it has evidence of burning.

Didn't we have this conversation? McMaster-Carr mastic sound deadening, foil back Jute, and then the reflectix from Lowe's and do you ought to be a pretty happy guy
Thinking more, im wondering what else is out there for acceptable cost as far as heat goes. Ambient is what ive always worked on. Not shielding or dealing with turbos or headers radiating through the floor. May be something better than what i currently do, at a reasonable price, that i don't know about.

I got some, I keep looking at it and the heat part is what is worrying me. I'm probably over thinking it, but the heat does worry me. That little turbo at full chat will produce some serious heat.
I did put some in the trunk and floor of white trash and helped a ton, but that car doesn't produce nearly the heat the omni does.
I put a hunk on my to-20 tractor on the side of the hood where exhaust runs and it makes some particular discomforting smells.
