I am helping a friend fix his 1980 BRAT which has sat for ~6 years- we got it running and driving, but it's fair from perfect. Anything funky I need to know about this beast before we really tear into it? Places for critical rust that I might not think of?
BTW, it's yellow and has the jump seats ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/cool-18.png)

Well, that part is already pretty rusty, where else do I look? ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)

If you look for the oil leak under the spare tire, that's the engine. There's probably some rust there too!
When I was a kid, my swingset used the jump seats from a BRAT. Being made of plastic, they were the only parts that hadn't rusted away.
