The AX15 and NP231 that were introduced into the YJ are very good and remained in use mostly unchanged for the duration of the 4.0.

I'm still not quite sure how much of an issue this really is. It's 2000 and 2001 XJs.
My 2000 has 187k miles on it. Original head. No problems. Noticeably peppier than the earlier 4.0s, so i'm ok with any potential reliability tradeoff that doesn't seem to be happening.
