No, it wouldn't. Back in the early 90's it would have.
Gen IIIs aren't small-blocks.
Besides, you usually need a pair of turbos on there or something to get power figures high enough. Big Fat Bean theory: Why have a bunch of little turbos when you could have just one big one?

A small block powered, 3800 pound car that can run 10s-9s in the quarter would suck to drive on the street.
i agree. If its not turbo it'll be compromised, fuel injection or not. I dont think megasquirt can fix 13:1 compression for 87 octane.

I have wanted a grand national for years. After I graduated high school about ten years ago and was looking at cars GNs were high on my list of cars I wanted. However, I couldn't find a clean one for less than about $15,000. While my budget was $20K, at the time I couldn't justify spending $15K on a car that the ladies would think is just a 15 year old Buick. hahahaha! These days I don't really care as much and have been thinking about picking one up before they really skyrocket in value. Either that or doing a monte carlo ss w/ a GN powerplant...
Here's an old '81 turbo Buick for sale:

Is that Riv a turbo convertible? Hard to tell from the photos.
