Are you joking?

You had the largest margin of "victory" and it sounds like you don't think you did anything wrong.

I was wearing a sombrero when I passed you, and I'm wearing one right now.

Wearing or dating?

Next time, stop by and drink our beer before voting for us. Everyone hates miatas.

Wearing... My wife hates it when I date.

You stopped by our garage, we were joking around for a bit about not liking Miatas and how the one had made a bunch of laps up. You said that you had beer back at your paddock. I asked you for one and no one ever got one for me.

I knew you guys from when I was autocrossing in DC. You guys seemed to take the crushing in stride when it happened. You should continue to have a sense of humor about it.

Jensenman, Please send me the video of the yellow-lap pass: victor@victor-hall.com I will find out which of my drivers did it, and scold him (and buy him a yellow t-shirt to wear next time). We were passed quite a bit under yellow (the ONLY time we got passed ;) Our official team response to the crushening is in the works. -Salazar

Soon as I can pinch it out of the video. It happened on the first part of my Sunday morning stint which would have been around nine thirtyish, IIRC.

Y'all were definitely hauling the mail, that's for sure.

As promised, the ThunderTerd in action.

Hey guys;

I have the passing under caution video Victor Hall was wanting, only thing is it's a 32 second segment of a 17 minute video. I can certainly email/post the whole thing, I'd rather clip out the segment. So far, I am too stoopid to be able to clip it. I am using Windows XP Home, Windows Media Player and it's a .ASF file. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Or, I can just You Tube the whole thing.

Yep it was a great weekend, got to watch lots of racing while working tech on Saturday. I probably met or talking with most of you who were there, but didn't realize who you were. Loved the Death Mobile. I had to explain it's significance to several of the people with me unfortunatley, dang "young kids" have really missed out on seeing Animal House.

LOL that was an awesome read!

So it is a race for cars that cost $500, only they are not $500. and it is for 24 hours, only it is not 24 hours, And the prize for the first place team wont cover the cost of fuel for the event, let alone "build costs"

Awsome, I am looking now for a car, and pulling together a team. I will take applications where the best lies are rewarded.

Great article, but did they even mention who won? I got that the Caprice was third, RX7 second, but who won? I am reading this at work and have been distracted a few time with...well...work.

The #2 RX7 won overall. Team Hong Norr took 30th. We learned reliability is the key. Here is a link to the rankings:

Yeah. And in the words of Phil (the guy who wrote the "cheating is winning" article or whatever the berkeley :) "Sadly, I'm pretty sure this is a $500 car. You guys don't have a snowball's chance in hell."

I'm sort of amazed that guys would bring a $2000+ car to an event where there's a damned good chance that your car will be crushed either on or off the track, but maybe Tom Fowler and the OPM crew just enjoy pissing away time and money. Feel free to quote me on that. Sadly (for them) our boys played cat-and-mouse with the spec-miata for multiple laps.

We're kind of surprised them thur California Commies didn't crush our car before it made it off the trailer :

Mmmmm. Swine!!!

He got a little wet, but you get the idea:

Around 10:00 on Friday night, the ex-waffle house employee turned hotel night manager informed us that the pool was closed. Now all the cool kids are saying it:

The shame is... The Schumacher Taxi Service didn't cheat at all. We didn't even think about it. The judges came over the night before, trying to intimidate us and we wouldn't have any of it. We laughed at them. Cams? Nope. Shocks? Nope. Rebuilt engine? Nope. Junkyard Alternator for $26? Check! Cut Springs? Check!

Yeah, if you are gonna cheat be smart about it. Not that we cheated; I think our results speak for that. 36th ain't too bad, I guess.

Word. Our motor sat in the back of a truck for 7 years. It was the big unknown. The car still ran liked a raped ape...when it wasn't pegged on "H". We swapped out the water pump ($60) and gutted the thermostat (free) at around midnight on Saturday night.

Hah. Them dents ain't NOTHIN'. I need to post a pic of two dents my guys collected. Once we get the TT out of the trailer, I'll snap a few. FWIW, the Mary Kay Toyota tried something and lost a sizeable chunk of bodywork. Allen says a CRX driver (not y'alls, I think it was We Todd) tried a very optimistic pass on the inside and discovered that big ol' T Birds are hard to push around.

Hey poop: we got you beat on prep work corner cuttin'. All we did was wipe the TT down with lacquer thinner (to remove the algae) and then Allen rolled out one side and I brush painted the other.
