The Miata has warped rotors. I'm gonna pull the wheels and measure everything this weekend, see if they can be cut or if they'll need to be completely replaced.
If they do need to be replaced, I'll be looking at the pads as well. Should I look at any sort of upgraded rotor/pad combos? I'd like to start Auto-X again, but I have no clue when my schedule will actually allow that. Just go with stock?
Stock will be fine for street and autocross use, if you wanted to do track days then you would need an upgrade.
I think the stock brakes are good for track days too, with appropriate brake pads and fluid. I've seen no indication that the Brembo brakes or any of the aftermarket packages are any better than stock at stopping the car until you get up to the high dollar six piston stuff. Lighter yes, better no.

Yeah stock discs and calipers should be fine, by upgrade I meant pads + fluid, maybe cooling.
Stock is totally fine for autocross. I did a track day with stock pads, rotors, and fluid, and that was fine too with a little mechanical sympathy.

Having done 3 days at Sebring and 2 days at barber this summer I can tell you stock brakes are not adequate even with hawk dtc 60 pads. Brand new stock pads only lasted 1 day. Hawk dtc 60 stock rotors 2days. I am running Goodwin bbk

With hawk dtc 60 with no problems at all. Autox might be ok with stock but definitely no any track days.
