I don't know how to describe these... But I've been thinking that my Elan would look pretty cool with some period-correct (i.e. late '80s ~ early '90s) "spokeless" wheels. Full-face I guess. The more retro-futurey the better...
Here's a bad photochop of some Ronal Turbos for example:
Those are available in my bolt pattern (4x100) but the highest offset they make is a bit low at +37 (my factory O.Z. wheels are +60 but people have run down to +45~+48 with no problems.)
Asymmetric and slotted wheels are cool too. Even something like these (which I used to have a set of) might work, but they were too small at 14x6:
I want 15x6.5 ~ 16x7.
Gimme some ideas here, get creative.

Yes.... but "cool" is subjective. I think they're positively hideous.

Centerlines were the classic solid disk wheel, back in the day.

The Mugen nr-10's are a bit reminiscent of some of the Camagnolo's used on older Fiat's and Alfa's:
Either would be pretty hard to find these days.

Not necessarily! My CSA Centra 6es ("triangle" wheels in the first post) were lighter than the same-size, spokey Ronal R8s I had at the same time. The construction of the wheel gives it its strength, the amount of metal used tends to stay more or less the same.
Anyway this is a street car, not a track rat.

Mugen CF48s.
There's a few different versions of them. Most are god-awful.
The only way they look halfway good is with the covers on, and they aren't easy to find.
Luckily, Rota makes a replica of them so you don't have to pay an obnoxious price for old used wheels that make your car look awful. You can instead pay a lower price for shiny new wheels that make your car look awful.
Holy hell we were all late on the CF48 identification.

Yeah, the CF48s without the covers look a bit too much like some sort of exposed mutant brake drum. Not nuts about them.
I love the Ronal Bears, but... not on my own car. Let's just leave it at that.
