This just popped up and I am considering grabbing it. Thoughts? If I do, I will probably strip for rallycross/back40 hoonage so 100% of the electronics are not required.

the trionic ecm for runing the engine is under the wiper cowl. if all you care about is gutting it id say give it a try. the BCM also known as "dice" and the theft system "twice" are located behind the gauge cluster and should not be affected, the airbag module is on the floor however. id say your good. coming from someone with 5 years as a indy saab tech for what its worth

That plus Megasquirt and no interior is quite interesting.
I don't understand why it would be unable to shift gears unless the TWICE module got f'ed up somehow and is keeping it locked in reverse. But if it starts and runs, I'd think that shouldn't be the case?
As long as you don't give a crap about any accessories, you should be able to get it going with a new TWICE and matching key. FWIW, some Aero bits are pretty valuable - if the seats and chin spoiler are in good shape, and it has HID headlights, you could probably make a few Benjamins and have a sweet back-40 car too.

Saab T7 is already just as tunable as Megasquirt. EXCELLENT OE engine management, probably the one and only thing that makes Saabs of the era truly stand out.

In reply to SlickDizzy: all that needs to be done is disassemble the shifter mechanism and removed the lockout plate and you should be good to go!
Wheels, skirts, seats, lip spoilers, etc are all desirable. If you can get it cheap enough, you could make some money.
If you end up needing a T7 ECU, I may have a spare in the basement.
