Woah, these were front wheel drive? I had no idea.

Also, I was not expecting to learn about hedges in here, but after work I have some recently trimmed hedges I need to fix. GRM never fails to learn me something new and unexpected.

Why didn't they put it up on the lift?

They wanted to get us in and out quickly. They were speedy. Hempstead Tire is great at that.

I didn't think tires were the measurement, I thought the measurement for trunks was bodies?

I managed to put a universal battery hold down on the car. Not beautiful, but should work.

Next, JA is off to the DMV to register the car, and I'm off to Harbor Freight to buy drum brake tools.

Now at the DMV. Fun. No. 122 with appointment. They're at 94. Ugh.

The behemoth era was interesting. Even in the 50s, you could climb into the engine bay of a Caddie and stand on the ground to work on the engine.  Were I to indulge in a 'big pig' it would more likely be a suicide door Continental (closest I have ever come was a Jaguar Mk 9 that we named 'Moby Jag')

Love this car! Reminds me of my 63 Continental that I had to relocate the washer/dryer to the pantry and use that cutout in the garage to fit it.

The first trip cruising down the highway with the top down is going to be glorious!

The DMV might be the difficult part in this story.

Excellent, a good ol' fashioned revival! Typically, this kinda thing gets championed all over YouTube, often with clickbait titles and bullE36 M3 motivation, with the only redeeming value being able to enjoy watching the suffering of the would-be wanna-be hero. But this... this is the good stuff, born of honesty and authenticity (and love). I'm both inspired and envious. Cheers to you guys for taking on this quest!

"It drives! JA and I just got back from a trip around the block...so this thing is almost like a real car."

LOL! "Almost like a real car"  Coffee shot through my nose on that one laugh I'm still laughing!

Man I hate doing drum brakes...

Anyway, the seized rear wheel cylinder is replaced, so we should have four working brakes shortly.

Reminds me of my Oldsmobile 98 Regency.  My kids (pre-carseat days) could have full-on WWE-style battles in the back seat and the people in the front would have no clue what was going on.

Now I want one. .. . .    Off to FB

Oh and I really like this kind of thread!!!!   Hope you do more of this type of thing.  Hell even if it is just a day in the life of a GRM employee thread.

Since I suspect neither of you have ever had white walls, a little plain water will wipe off the blue.

Super zoom, what is that?  Please tell me it's a curb feeler!
