It’s perfect and, yes, I’m in love. It takes everything from my long affair with Civics and makes things just a bit nicer.
It’s quick, it’s quiet, it’s comfortable.
More to come–and let’s hear those questions–but I‘m having trouble finding any faults here.
And the Integra got plenty of use this weekend: in town, on the highway and about some back roads.
Obligatory photo of the giant turtle I moved out of the road. (Yes, I washed my hands afterward.)
I'll admit that I didn't think the Type S would review well once it got into journalists' hands.
Turns out I was wrong.
It checks a lot of boxes for me ... hatchback, fast, comfortable, great manual transmission, reliability, decent fuel economy ... but here is what it's up against in my household: price. I'm just not a player in that market.
I have no doubt it's a wonderful car for someone else. Enjoy your week with it.
There is the reality of price: about $50k.
Other than that, I can’t find fault with it.
Good point about the shifter as it’s smooth with just the right amount of notch as it falls into gear.
would love to know what the lap time differences are between the FL5 an DE5 on a track where some downforce would make a difference
This is a bit of a silly question on an enthusiast site, but I notice in one of the photos there is a drink in a cup holder. Does that get in the way of shifting at all?
Hey, stay hydrated, everyone.
I’d call it slightly in the way but not nearly enough to be a deal-breaker. That bottle doesn’t fit in the door pocket drink holders.

Honestly, I'm all for these kinds of questions.
Yeah, I know the Type S is going to be fast, but will it comfortably hold my Big Gulp when I'm stuck in rush-hour traffic?
If the sun is at a weird high angle on my way home from work, will the sun visor cover it?

Does it feel like it is THAT much nicer/better than an Elantra N?
In reply to CrashDummy :
It does.
The Elantra’s upper door caps are hard plastic. These are softer. It sounds insignificant, but my left elbow notices.
If the Elentra N is a solid A, this is an A+.
How annoying are the rattles that are present in the Civic that are also present in the ITS, such as the door rattle and the visor rattle?

We are talking a $15k price difference between the two cars, not sure you should expect the same. I love the spec but I wonder what else can be had for $50k new or used that might just be better?
How does headroom compare to the 2017 Type R? I seriously looked at one but my head was touching the roof before I put on a helmet.

The question was simply if the Acura was nicer/better. I believe it is.
Now, is that difference worth the extra money? That’s where you can start debating one over the other.
I wouldn't want to be you having to test this car.
Kinda like here's a little bit of cocaine to try.......,then your every waking thought is how to get that car!
In reply to Datsun240ZGuy :
Yeah, a good friend already told me to buy it since I looked so happy driving it.
But it’s $50k, I said.
He just nodded: Buy it.
(Spoiler alert: I am not buying it.)

David, sorry, I wasn't challenging your response, I guess where I was going was that for an extra $15,000 or more it should be better.

So you are leasing one...
Is it drastically different than the newer Civic Si and/or Type Rs? I've driven both of them and I thought they were amazing, if this is any better than those I don't think I could handle it lol.
I'm interested to hear about the tactile experiences including steering feedback, clutch and shifter feel (maybe rev hang insights too). Also, how do the seats compare to those in the CTR? Enjoy your week, sounds like a great time!
