I just like the look of time attack cars–the more wings, the better. Looking forward to the updates.
I'm psyched for this!
I thought Amir might be ready to debut the NSX in unlimited, and Ryan Passey would be out with the improved HyperMiata, but I guess neither are quite ready... Both must be close to turning laps though.
I want to see how Eric Sutton does. I have no clue what he's done to that car but it scoots... Looks a bit soft for COTA perhaps?

And I thought Jonathan Wheeler won E class last year? Shouldn't that disqualify him from E class this year?
GT-X is a new class this year, right? Should be cool to get a comparison between the street car tuned in a guy's garage and a factory GT3 or P2 car. It might help motivate people at the pointy end of unlimited to figure out how to go a little faster.

I love your enthusiasm. I'm excited, too. If anyone has questions, feel free to post them on this thread. I'll be happy to find answers.

GT-X is essentially what used to be Pro/Comp. Factory built race cars, whether production based (e.g. Porsche GT3 Cup) or not. Getting more popular, though emphasis is still on "cars with Vins".

One of our local guys Thomas Smith is competing; the guy is hugely talented and does it all himself.
Will there be a live stream? Has been in the past, but I can't find any info for this year.
Good morning from a chilly COTA. How's this for a Max Effort entry? 67 Camaro. 1100 hp. 2900 lb. 3900 pounds of downforce. Owned by Mike Dusold, driven by Jason Hart, who has Le Mans, Baja, and dirt sprint car experience.
Jackie Ding has added a few more mods to his BMW M2 since he was at the SCCA Time Trials Nationals / Ultimate Track Car Challenge.
Fastest car so far - this McLaren, with a 2:00.938, with Rob Bell behind the wheel.

The same car, a Viper, is out of commission because two bolts failed and the front spoiler got damaged. Short weekend for Nick Anderson from the Kansas City area.
Lyfe Motorsports' GTR breaks Feras's Unlimited record at 2:02.8
Edit: and then drops a bit more to 2:02.5

Jonathan Wheeler with a Nissan 370Z NISMO. He is the Enthusiast defending champion, but you may recognize him from some SCCA ads in our pages.
Ravi Tomerlin brought his junkyard find NSX back to Super Lap Battle.
Honda Motocompacto sighting! Zunflower33, as he goes by on IG, brought it out to COTA. He said the range isn't that great, but it's perfect for the track.
Limited leader, Gabe Zamora, who lives in São Paulo, Brazil.
Who competes with a Caddy? This guy - Mike Soto - 7th in class
If this Datsun doesn't get your attention ...
